"Back when we worked on 1326, the end of the car
was damaged, which required a complete rebuild. We took the entire end of the car apart
and Wayne Jenkins, myself and others (I believe Bill Dow and Bill
Mertens did the painting for instance) rebuilt the end of the car
completely. A member made up much of the new wood for the end from
patterns that we were able to salvage. We took the end completely
apart, straightened the knees and worked up from there. The car got all
new framing on the ends and floor, new flooring, new siding and
windows on the ends etc. Much of the inside wood was salvaged and glued back
together so that the inside doesn't reflect the extent of the work";
