The Autoneers is a division of the Horseless Carriage Club of America a national group dedicated to the preservation, restoration and touring of automobiles built in 1915 and earlier.
Motoring over some of Connecticut’s loveliest back roads these *“Brass Cars” will be functioning in the exquisite providence known as “The Touring Mode” or the proverbial "Sunday Drive" for a good portion of the day!
ETA at the CT Trolley Museum will be early afternoon as the Autoneer members will unabashedly sashay along at their own comfortable and safe speeds.
In the tradition that has become a delightful and valued element of the CT Trolley Museum experience, these two very early modes of American mechanical transportation will combine for an exciting viewing extravaganza on what should be a charming summer afternoon outing in the Connecticut countryside.
Come on down and join with us in welcoming these “Autoneers” and bring your cameras, for this is a photo-op that comes so infrequently. Ride our rails – view all of these magnificent restorations, relax and enjoy this wonderful turn of the 20th century encounter.
* "Brass Cars": Terminology refers to pre 1916 automobiles that generally were delivered with OEM brass headlights, radiators and trim. |
